In 2012 I graduated with my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health. Since then I have worked with a wide variety of clientele and presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, relational issues (parent-child, spouse, etc), eating disorders, social skills, and trauma. Additionally, I have worked with many varying populations including children of all ages, at-risk teens, college populations, single parents, and developmentally disabled. My passion lies in working with families in and experiential and strength-based format.

Early Childhood Counselor, Greater Minnesota Family Services

In this position I provided in-home family and individual counseling in a rural setting. My primary focus was children ages birth-ten. In addition to the in-home counseling, I also co-facilitated a day-treatment program for preschool age children designed to improve social skills and emotional development and recognition.
Youth Counselor, McCrossans Boys Ranch
2011-2012
While at McCrossans I had the opportunity to interact one-on-one and in groups with at-risk adolescents who had been removed from their homes. We primarily addressed social skills, life skills, and coping mechanisms through daily activities and discussions. In this position I also facilitated many skill development groups with the boys.

During my internship I facilitate Theraplay groups with children ages 5-7 designed to improve social skills, develop a positive self image, and improve mastery of emotional cues and recognition. Additionally, I co-facilitated Character Count groups with children ages 7-13. I also had the oppurtunity to work with children and their families in a one-on-one counseling setting. My primary population focus was children ages 6-10 and their parents. I encountered many presenting concerns in this position including sexual trauma, abuse, neglect, family relational issues (divorce, adoption, etc), depression, and anxiety.
